The phoenix philosophy

कुछ बात है कि हस्ती मिटती नहीं हमारी
सदियों रहा है दुश्मन दौरे-ज़मां हमारा

Visited Maheshwar (a small town near Indore, MP) few days back and in the retreat palace of Holkars (the last Maratha rulers of the place), found these notes. Notice the part about Aurangzeb the great iconoclast.

I wonder how Hinduism (or the Sanaatan dharma) has survived centuries of oppression and persecution. Amazingly, it still stands tall despite all the marxist-muslim nexus of propaganda. It also has grown in strength by attracting western societies and has sheltered all without attacking anyone in the history of more than ten thousand years. That reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite journalist-commentators - find it below.

"The historic flaw is the belief, at some gut level, that India is a secular country because the minorities want secularism. India is secular not because Muslims need it but because Hindus want it. India is a secular country because Indian Hindus, who constitute the majority, and therefore, have a proportional impact upon the political ethos, have created and defended a Constitution that is a remarkable triumph of reason over the temptations of sectarian passion." - M.J. Akbar
