तुम्हारी याद का सामां

पुराने वक्त की यादें 

तमाम इस गर्द के पीछे  

किसी अंधेरे कोने में 

या किसी ताख के नीचे

पड़ी मिलतीं हैं यूँ अक्सर 

कि जैसे उस पुराने शहर की

मानूस गलियों से 

गुज़रते वक्त 

ठोकर 

लग ही जाती है 

जहाँ बिखरा पड़ा है 

आज भी इतना  

तुम्हारी याद का सामां 

तुम्हारे लम्स के साये!

पहाड़ों पर कभी जब टूट कर बरसात होती है....

पहाड़ों पर कभी जब 

टूट कर 

बरसात होती है 

तो पहले बादल घिर आते हैं 

दिन में रात करते हैं 

कहीं झरने उमड़ पड़ते हैं 

कुछ रस्ते नहीं दिखते 

हर इक पत्ता निखर जाता है 

धुल जाता है बारिश में। 

ये सारे सिलसिले तो कैद हैं 

इस कैमरे में 

आज भी 

शोना  

मगर किस पर खुले ये राज़ 

के हर भीगे मौसम में 

मुझे तुम याद आती हो 

वोही दिन याद आता है 

कि जब हम भीगते लौटे थे घर 

और मेरी गाड़ी पर 

मुझे चूमा था 

पहली बार जब तुमने। 

कभी हिचकी बहुत आये तो 

बस इतना समझ लेना 

के फिर से हाथ छू आये 

तेरे लबों के निशां कांधे पर!

After convocation in March 2012, I left IIMA 

on May 26, 2010, 1000 hrs.

This was the last birthday party we had on campus.

Amaltaas in Mauritius

Amaltaas (Cassia fistula) has a beautiful connection to my childhood. When I was a kid, we used to go to Lohia Park (originally named and still better known as Company Bagh) of Lucknow. The park was full of Amaltaas, which blossoms in summer months. We used to collect bag-full of the flowers and showered at each other those cool, soft, and colorful flowers. Every time I see Amaltaas, the child inside me runs to those Amaltaas of Company Bagh and showers me with a bag-full of cool. soft, and colorful memories!!
