गौरैया, तुम्हारा नाम क्या था

Few days back, I went to a place to teach some sessions. 

Their guest house had these sparrow-huts. 

Sparrows were nesting and chirping all over the place.

Best thing I saw in a long while!

 

All my cameras

When I went home this time, I found a basket in the storeroom with all my old cameras. Turns out they were still working. Some old pictures were also stored in those memory cards. I extracted everything. I searched every one of them. I scanned every single picture. For a trace of you! You were not there. You were not there in my past. Finally, all your traces from my past are gone. Some memories remain. Don't worry. Time will erase those too. 

 

गए दिनों की धूप जो कच्चे पापड़ छत पर सूख रहे थे

ये लाइन है मेरी एक नज़्म की पहली लाइन। जिसको पढ़ कर मम्मी - पापा रो दिए थे। 

पूरी नज़्म सुनोगी, मेरी आवाज़ में ? अब कैसे सुनोगी, जब सारे पुल ही जला दिए तुमने? 

खैर, कभी दिल भटक जाए तो मैं तुमको पुल के उसी वीरान किनारे पर मिलूंगा, जहाँ सब कुछ जल चुका है।।

Bang bang, my baby shot me down...

She didn't even say goodbye

She didn't take the time to lie

 

सपना तुमको पाने का

मेरे स्वप्न में हम, 

हम यानी मैं और तुम, 

बैठे हैं इस झील किनारे 

और हाथों में हाथ तो है पर 

होठों पर कोई बात नहीं।  

मेरी सच्चाई में हम, 

हम यानी मैं निपट अकेला, 

उसी उदासी कमरे में 

बैठे हैं ऐसे जैसे बस 

अभी गयी हो तुम उठ कर 

और फिर से वापस आ जाओगी।  

और जब आओगी तुम तो हम 

तुमसे कुछ भी नहीं कहेंगे

बस हाथों में हाथ लिए हम 

उसी झील तक जायेंगे फिर 

बैठेंगे और फिर से सपना 

तुमको पाने का देखेंगे।

सीता से श्रापित

बुद्ध के ज्ञान-प्राप्ति का स्थान 

और अब.....

The place where we met for the first time, oh my dearest bird, is gone forever now! 

And all the rest of the places too!

मेरे राम आएँगे

मुक्ति

विष्णुपद मंदिर, जहाँ भगवान् विष्णु ने गयासुर को पद-पराजित किया। 

जहाँ लोग पिंड-दान हैं अपने पितरों की मुक्ति के लिए। 

 क्या ऐसा हो सकता है कि अतृप्त पितरों को मुक्ति देने की तरह ही अतृप्त प्रेम का भी श्राद्ध किया जा सके ? 

अधूरे प्रेम से मुक्ति का संभवत: ये अंतिम उपाय बचा है।
