निम्बूड़ा

All the quotes about lemons are about life giving lemons. 

For once, why people can't think of how would lemons feel,

if all they are handed is people and there is no "peoplade" to make?

इतनी पी है कि...

अब जो रिश्तों में बंधा हूँ तो खुला राज़ ये मुझ पर,

कब परिंदे उड़ नहीं पाते हैं परों के होते।

बहुत मैं पछताया

 पुख़्ता होते ही मर गयीं चीज़ें

बात कच्ची थी बात अच्छी थी 

घर बना कर बहुत मैं पछताया 

इससे खाली ज़मीन अच्छी थी 

  

फिर

फिर ये दिन इक शोला बनकर 

बरस गया यादों की रग पर 

फिर उसी बेवफ़ा पे मरते हैं...

फिर वही ज़िन्दगी हमारी है...

BTW, a snake is pretty apt for Scindia emblem, for they were the one of strongest supporters of Britishers in conquering and robbing India.

दुष्यन्त कुमार को जितनी बार पढ़ा जाए, कुछ नया ही भावार्थ निकलता है. 

सो अन्तरताने पे टहलते हुए एक ग़ज़ल दिखी और लगा कि हर शेर एक तस्वीर है. 

इसलिए, इस फरवरी हम इस ग़ज़ल के एक-एक शेर को एक-एक तस्वीर के साथ पढ़ेंगे 

और सोचेंगे और देखेंगे और गुनगुनाएंगे. 

परिन्दे अब भी पर तोले हुए हैं

Gandhi - Do you know him?

Death - 0 (The beginning of the end)

December always gives me a feeling as if someone is dying. And every year, year after year, I found it was the year that was found dying through December.

But death, unlike life, is not so bad or painful or difficult. It's easy - you just have to lie there!

Anyhow, this month of December 2014 is for death. You know why? Because death is a poem. Remember what Gulzar wrote for 'Anand' and Rajesh Khanna recited:

मौत तू एक कविता है

मुझसे एक कविता का वादा है,

मिलेगी मुझको

But this is not to mourn the death or the dead. This is to celebrate death as once in a lifetime event. So don't be sad or disgusted or sorry. Just remember what the gentleman and lovely statesman poet Atal Bihari Vajpayee once wrote:

जन्म दिवस पर हम इठलाते, 

क्यों ना मरण त्यौहार मनाते, 

अन्तिम यात्रा के अवसर पर, 

आँसू का अशकुन होता है।

बस ऐसे ही...
